Join DocFilmSA for the second session in our docSHARE webinar programme:
Show Me The Short Film Money, Honey! + Q&A
Guest Speaker: Jessie Zinn
This session uses Jessie’s Faces of Fortune as a case study of a film supported by the NFVF for their Unsung Community Heroes Slate, with a detailed step by step overview from the proposal and pitching to completion of the final film. This will include the principles for drafting a budget for a short documentary that aligns with the needs of the creative proposal. It will also address what you can expect from a funder and what they will require in return.
Faces of Fortune: Not All Heroes Wear Capes, but if Terry Fortune had to wear one, it would be loud, fabulous and sparkly. In the 1970s, despite Apartheid laws, Terry Fortune became one of the first Coloured drag queens in South Africa. A legend within the Cape Town theatre world, Terry Fortune has paved the way for artists, and performers throughout the past 30 years.
