docSHARE creates opportunities for experienced film professionals to share their knowledge in a series of masterclasses and workshops.

docSHARE unpacks best practice in documentary filmmaking, including the practical, conceptual, legal, and ethical challenges facing documentary filmmakers. We invite interaction with filmmakers beyond the borders of South Africa, with a specific aim to include filmmakers and film practitioners from other African countries. docSHARE makes use of both virtual and in-person engagement. We host in person sessions in partnership with leading South African film festivals, providing a space for discussion and networking in a vibrant environment and tapping into the issues of the day, with topics such as Legal Tango and Brave Ethics and Budgeting for Documentary.
